We had an amazingly fun time at Disneyland with Grandma and Grandpa and Tara, Chad, and Dantley! The kids keep asking when we can go back! Mason and Brinley went to Disneyland when they turned two so we had to keep up the tradition. We rented a house about half a mile from Downtown Disney so it wasn't a bad walk. We left Wednesday afternoon and got into some traffic leaving Phoenix so we got to the house at 11:00 after some stops. The kids had fallen asleep but were pretty excited once we got there. I asked Mason and Brinley where they wanted to sleep thinking they would sleep together in one room but they each had their eye on a different room. That made it hard to know what to do with Teagan. I knew she wouldn't be happy in a play pen if she could see either of them so we let her try and sleep with Brinley. They kept bothering each other and I could see it wasn't going to work. After laying with them and taking Teagan for a ride in the car, she finally fell asleep in bed with me around 3:00 am. It wasn't the best night of sleep for any of us but the kids did great at Disneyland. After that Teagan was a great sleeper in the play pen in Mason's room.
Brinley's princess room.
Mason's hero room. He slept on top and bottom different nights.
Tara, Chad and Dantley had the pool house which was great so Dantley could sleep without hearing my crazy kids. Tara and Chad were so nice to get breakfast and snacks for us so we could eat before the parks and keep the kids happy.
Day 1 - Disneyland
It happened to be the 60th Diamond celebration.
Mason picked the first ride and he chose Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. Brinley was tall enough to ride this time and I think she was a little scared but she said she liked it. Then we all went on Pirates of Carribean and Dantley and Teagan cried on the hills but then Dantley fell asleep.
Winnie the Pooh
Brinley really liked this one so we rode it again for her.
Mason's first time on Indian Jones. Thanks to the stroller swap he got to go again dad, grandma and grandpa.
While they did that we rode the Jungle Cruise. The kids liked it. Mason (and Grandpa) were mad they missed it.
Teagan was the first to notice that Grandpa had Mickey Mouse on his shirt!
Being so helpful giving Dantley his binky. I think she would take it out so she could give it back again.
Teagan liked Mickey!
Mason was so excited to go to Toon Town to ride the roller coaster. Chase and I took him and Brinley. Mason was hilarious and had his arms up and giggled the whole time!
Small World. Brinley fell asleep and we were hoping Teagan would but she was too busy trying to put her hand in the water. She liked to dance to the music too.
Mason (and Grandpa) really wanted to ride the train. Again I was hoping Teagan would fall asleep but she was just crazy instead.
We finally made it to the carrousel for Brinley before leaving.
Chase, Mason, Brinley, Grandpa and Grandma stayed for the parade and fireworks but Dantley and Teagan needed to go to bed. When they came back and told us how awesome it was, Tara, Chad and I went back to see the later parade.
I'm so glad we came when we did because the parade was really cool! We had pretty good seats too.
There wasn't another firework show but apparently Tinker Bell flew over the castle and all the stores along Main Street were lit up and had pictures on them for different songs. Very cool!
We still had a stroller pass for Big Thunder so we decided to ride that since we had a little bit of time before closing.
And we couldn't pass up the chance to walk on Splash Mountain. As I was about to duck for cover I noticed Tara's arm half way up and I just thought she wasn't quite brave enough to raise them all the way. Then I saw the picture after and died laughing! We were tired and wet for the walk back but it was worth it.
Day 2 - California Adventures
We had great weather, mostly cloudy until afternoon right before the sun went down, and the lines weren't bad!
The first ride of the day is my favorite! It was hilarious listening to dad laugh the whole time!
When we saw Sofia, Teagan ran right over to her. I love Brinley's hand on her back!
After the pictures Brinley asked me if I saw Sofia tickle her cheek. She was pretty excited about that! Mason wouldn't get in the picture because "it's for girls!"
Mason had been telling us how badly he wanted a hat with Mickey Mouse ears. He was a happy boy when Chase took him and he could get red!
At the Frozen sing-a-long. Brinley (and Chad) enjoyed singing along.
Brinley had a big smile when she saw Elsa!
Olaf!!
I think she might have been a little nervous for her first time on Radiator Springs. She liked it except for the fast turns. It's too bad she was in the back and couldn't see over the seat. The rest of us loved it!
Tara and Chad were waiting with Dantley and Teagan and Chad randomly took a picture which happened to be us in the green car!
This girl enjoyed her ice cream while waiting in line!
Mason was excited for the ferris wheel. He had to be by Grandpa on EVERY ride!
A little nervous!
A little crazy!
Brinley had a pretty sweet seat for the Pixar parade. Mason and Chase went on the Goofy roller coaster for the second time. Mason loves it and giggles and giggles!
Chase and Grandpa took Mason and Brinley on the wilderness trail for the first time. They loved it!
The whole group! We missed Blake and his family but hopefully next time!
Chase, Mason, Grandma and Grandpa stayed for more fun. They rode the Cars ride again and a couple others and had a hot dog and left. I love their picture!
But Grandma and Grandpa were die hards and stayed longer! They saw Bugs Life, the World of Color show, and went on Little Mermaid for the third time! (It was Brinley's favorite!) Grandma was a trooper since her heels have been hurting her. We all had a great time!
Day 3 - Pool/Relaxing
The kids were excited to swim and our feet needed a rest. It was overcast but the water was pretty warm.
Sweet sleeping boy!
Brinley and Teagan loved playing on the step with all the little toys.
After swimming we had pizza for lunch and nap time. We relaxed and played and ended the day with dinner at Outback.
The next day we headed home. We all left pretty early. Tara and Chad were driving and mom and dad took Dantley and had to leave for their flight. We stopped by Downtown Disney for some souvenirs and then headed home. We got back about 4:00 and the kids were pretty good riders!
We can't wait for the next trip!
